Marine Shaft Repair
Dear all,
Has anybody had experience on marine shaft repairs? On many such shafts they will run through a Cutlass style bearing. This usually runs on a sleeve be it brass or stainless steel. My question is: Has anybody used Thermal Spray Coatings to repair these shaft sleeves? Or is it not cost effective over making a new sleeve and replacing/machining a new one? If anybody out there would be wiling to share there experience in dealing with the shipyard/marine industry it would be greatly appreciated.
