RE: removing of plasma sprayed coating
Hi karunanidhi

Metco 58NS is a copper-nickel-indium alloy powder (for those that don't know).

Grit blasting or machining are my first thoughts. Should not be to much trouble with a relatively thin and soft coating.

could u pls. tell me is there any standard procedure for removal of this kind of plasma coatings
can we get uniform coating removal in grit blasting for gas turbine blades.
could u suggest the grit, size and operating pressure.

RE: removing of plasma sprayed coating
Hi karunanidhi

I assume this may be the anti-fretting coating applied to titanium alloy compressor blade roots.

You must follow the standard procedures, specifications etc. issued by the the engine manufacturer the parts belong to. That should override any advice or standards given on this forum or elsewhere. Even if you have a superior procedure, it would be unwise to deviate from the OEM quality and traceability systems, particularly on a critical part like this. If a procedure is not specified, then ask them for guidance.
