plasma coating chipping after machining

We have a plasma coating process that spray 0.025"
thickness METCO 450NS powder onto a concave surface
(about 1" inch ID), the coating was chipped after
machining. Appreciate, if someone has good suggestions
to figure out plasma coating chipping problem ? TKS
