Rochelle Salt stripping of WCCo
Hello,
Can anyone help me understand in more detail the actual chemistry behind the electrolytic stripping of WCCo using rochelle salts?
I'm currently running the standard mix of Sodium Carbonate/Rochelle Salt in an electrolytic cell made anodic to 4-6V DC with SS electrodes. I understand the Co is being oxidized/dissolved essentially liberating the carbides from the metal matrix but I would like to understand more of how/why that is happening.
Also, if anyone has any experience stripping in an aerospace setting, any tips for upkeep(solution recharging, maintenance, etc.)? Just put in a new stripping line so this is all fairly new
