Are you using air jet assembly 6P330 with cross jet intersect at 65mm with 4.5 bar air pressure and spray distance 75mm (10mm beyond air jet intersect point). If not that will explain very poor coating.

Well if you do not have a plasma system then fair enough
good reason. If you do then economics is not so clear cut. Chromium oxide has very poor deposit efficiency at the best of times, but with flame spray you may only be looking at ~20%, plasma would be more than double that, with better quality and much higher productivity.
