Thanks your post. We want to apply this wire on Bearing area. We have 2 different wire to apply this application. First one is 420 Stainless steel and the other one is 414 Stainless Steel. Do you any experiances about 414 Grade ? I think 414 Grade hardness is higher 420 grade. Is any body use 414 with arc spray? Or Can you suggest other wires for bearing area?

You have not really given many details on the application, what is the machine, the component, what diameters, loading, volume of parts, etc.

However assuming its a normal shaft repair, in a bearing area, a bond coat of a NiAl material, followed by 420 should work.

Other factors could be more important than the coating wire, like parameters, surface prep, skilled operator, and critical in my opinion, is Belt Grinding or Stone grinding of the 420 SS to achieve the proper surface, and dimension.
