The process used is Plasma spray not plasma transfer which I understand relies on fusion with the base metal. At the moment I believe that the coatings we have tried to machine are too thick. The pre-coat m/c drawing calls up sizes for stellite welding not plasma spray and I would guess that 5mm allowance would be too thick. Am I heading in the right direction?
