Best suitable coating
Hello to all!
This roll comes in contact with aluminum band to tension it. Temperature is around 300C and some time have speed difference between the roll and the band. Aluminum particles and oxides sticks to the roll surface making footprints on the aluminum band.
What type of coating is more suitable to prevent aluminum from sticking?
Thank you!

First of all, I would have tried to make this roller from simple gray cast iron.
If gray cast iron is too soft for the application, then I would have next tried the high-alloyed cast iron with about 30% Cr (very hard and wear-resistant high-temperature material).

If you really want to do that with a coating, try flame-sprayed and subsequently sintered NiCrBSi coatings. A similar layer can be applied to a steel roller by means of laser deposition welding.
