Throwing power limits of CVD?

|Throwing power limits of CVD?
I'm doing some research on the throwing power / ability to coat blind and complex detail of various coating systems and was wondering if anyone might be able to enlighten me on the limits of CVD?
I've looked into ALD, PVD and thermal spray all of which seem quite cut and dry as to their ability (or lack there of) to coat complex, hiden and blind detail evenly. From what I've read there seems to be some debate / ambiguity around the limits of CVD in this regard. Some books and articles suggest CVD can coat any shape while others list CVD's ability to coat complex detail as only moderate.
Would anyone care to wade in?
