Skateboards
Has anyone ever used Metco 405 on skateboards in place of grip tape? What surface prep would you use? Would you use a base material? If so what material? I plan to use a 12E torch. If you have suggestions on nozzles or air caps that would also be greatly appreaciated.

RE: Skateboards
Hi Aaron
What is the substrate material? If a reinforced plastic composite or wood, Metco 405 would probably not work, just too hot as a first coat anyway. Low melting point material like zinc or aluminium will be needed. With care a harder top may be added. Stuart Milton post regarding New-non-slip-thermal-spray-coating may be worth a try, although this is primarily for arc spray.
