New non-slip thermal spray coating

Metallisation Ltd has launched a new durable non-slip coating. The 28E ARCTEC coating is ideal for use on steel floors, decks and panels across diverse industries, from train steps to oil platforms.

The product is a solid aluminium alloy wire with discrete particles that reinforce the coating. Both corrosion and wear tests have been independently carried out with favourable results. In addition, some real life application areas have been tried with good success to date.

For those familiar with an old product called Duralcan, it is similar in principle to this product. Duralcan was tried and accepted for use as non-slip coatings on helidecks but became unpopular due to pricing and reliable supply issues. The new 28E ARCTEC product has addressed these manufacturing issues and made supply in smaller quantities possible and economical.
