Diamond Jet Air Flow
I am new to running a DJ2600 system. Can you tell me if there are any published works discussing the effects of increasing / decreasing the Air flow in this Gun. All of the parameters that I see have the Air flow at 44% to 50%.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Diamond Jet Air Flow
Hi Hunter85

Sign0016 to the Surface Engineering Forum.

Not been able to find much on this topic. Nearly all publish parameter optimisation work I've come across tends to concentrate on fuel/oxygen flows/ratios, spray distance and spray rates as the variable factors. Air flow for some reason is usually set as a constant from recommended parameters. Air flow is a critical parameter, apart from providing cooling to the air cap, it will influence gas/particle velocity/temperature. It will also influence any tendency for air cap fouling.

RE: Diamond Jet Air Flow
I have that problem nowdays,
I am trying to spray Diamlloy 4004NS (Ni 14%Cr 18%Fe 9,5%Co 5%Ti 4%Mo 4%W 3%Al )

My parameters:
H2 (metco flow unit): 60
O2 (metco flow unit): 29
H2/ ( O2+ air*0,2) : 1,76
Air (metco flow unit): 25
N2-carrier (metco flow unit): 25
SD : 310 mm

I began to reach suitable microstructure with these parameters..
However; I have a build up problem on air cap at each 10 passes most probabaly less air flow as sroud gas..
Can I get the same microstructure, İf I increase air flow and decrease O2 flow prowiding that h2/ o2 is constant to prevent air cap fouling..

Regards;
