Hi ycwbycwb

Your post is fine, but it is probably more suited to the "Products and Services" forum section.

Any ex Woka employee's out there since Sulzer Metco take-over?

Hi, Gordon,

It seems some of them left WOKA since it was taken over by Metco. WOKA WC powders quality is not stable as before.

Do you have any recommendations for WC-CoCr powders supplier? Smile

Hi ycwbycwb

Sorry. I wound not feel comfortable recommending a specific powder or supplier. To do this properly you really need to do side by side comparative testing between the various powders/suppliers. Spray tests to indicate coating quality, deposit efficiency, spray rate etc. and longer term assessment of powder supplier quality/performance will enable you to rank the various powders/suppliers in order of fitness to your specific set-up and jobs. Where I do have good information from doing trials similar to above, I am bound by confidentiality contracts not to disclose them. Chances are these results would not be valid to your particular set-up anyway.

Obviously, doing comparative trials is relatively time consuming and expensive, but a good investment if you use significant quantity of specific powder types. For occasional small scale use of powders doing these trials does not make economical sense, so I would be inclined to use the powder recommended by your equipment provider (not necessarily best, but usually safe bet) if you are unsure. Trials will show you that not all so called equivalent powders will give you the desired or equivalent results.

Hi, Gordon

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately some of the powders by small scale use proved to be acceptable eventually seemed to be quite bad due to the unhonest suppliers behavior. So what I can do is to find some large powder supplers and hope them to be more stable for their powders.

Hi ycwbycwb

I would be interested to know what specific problems you have been having with your powder? What changed?

I saw that Eberhard Findeisen was at the ITSC this year. Did anyone manage to get his contact details?

H.C. Starck has some really good powders. Their WC are probably the best. PAC is up there as well.
