HVOF and propane
Lets just say i would use HVOF system without a vaporizer and have some propane in liquid form in my gun. How would that affect the properties of my coating ? WC/Co in particular. Would the coating be porous ? Low hardness ? Or it doesn't make any difference ? Any quick ways to shortcut this problem without vaporizer (its out of order for the moment).

Hi,

After short time, the gun will stop because there is no pressure in the propane cylinder.
Without a vaporiser you have to heat the propane cylinder in order to compensate the vaporise heat.

RE: HVOF and propane
Hi Corund
I ever see in works shop with this problems, to put the propane cylinder inside a drum with hot water(about 40 °C), with a boiler far to the bottles of gas, and in order to maintain the water temperature at about 40 °C, and the tubes must be thermal protected, and if the cabin temperature is low, at the beginning you must purge the gas line, until the liquid goes out.
Best regards
Luigi

Thank you for replying.
We actually are heating the gas bundles to reach the desired pressure of the gas during cold season. But the gas condensates in lines (~20 meters length ). We solved this by bringing gas bundle close to spray system ( ~2m of gas hose ).

RE: HVOF and propane
Our company sells a propane pumping station to convert liquid fuel to gas. It works even in the coldest workshops so you do not need to heat the fuel cylinders. The pump instantly pressurizes the line, so there is no need to wait for the cylinders to warm up. We also sell heated hoses to keep the gas from recondensing to a liquid. If you would like to talk about any of these products, contact me off-line.

Hi we are trying to spray Chrome oxide on phosphor bronze we are using NiAl for base layer.
problem is the base layer itself is not holding and after coating chrome oxide the the entire coating is coming out with base metal all pre coating procedures are followed as per requirements We have earlier done on cu brass and AL but never have faced this problem can any body suggest the solution
