Plastic Spraying
Hello,

Has anyone every sprayed Plastic materials using the 5PII or equivalent ? or is it possible for that matter

Just wondered if there are any special techniques involved ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

All the best

RE: Plastic Spraying
Hi Kev

I have sprayed plastic a bit using a Castodyn TD2000 Eutectic torch.

It required a special air cooling collar on the torch so that the powder did not burn off in the flame.

Currently I work with a company from Italy that sells system for plastic coating, typically it is used on pipe joints etc for anti corrosion coating.

Procedure is pretty simple, clean surface, heat and spray the coating will melt and kind of fuse to the surface.

Hard part is controling the Preheat

Hi Kev

Many moons ago I sprayed plastics (nylon 11 and a few others I can't remember) through the 5P, though I seem to remember using propane with air rather than oxygen. Unfortunately, can't remember what nozzle I used or if it was modified. Gave very good results.

RE: Plastic Spraying
Hi Kev
5P gun and Castodin gun need a special hardware to spray thermoplastc materials, and it is obsolete, there wasn't any result, but if you need a good system to apply polymer coatings with only one torch, and without heating torch, you will try with Siderwinder gun produced by Xiom NY
