16 E flame spray
Hi
I am trying to coat steel alloys with 1%C steel and a bond coat NiAl (95/5).
Could anybody help me in using parameters to minimize porosity and best adhesion?
I am using a 15E gun which is very similar to 16E Metco with wire feed controller and 1/8" wires, Oxygen and Acetylene gases.
thanks,

RE: 16 E flame spray
Thanks Kev; but does it mean we should not change them at all and with these parameters we will get the best quality?
Regards,

RE: 16 E flame spray
They are the Parameters that Metco would give as per the tech bulletins
If you get hold of that it will give you the hardness etc etc

Best thing to do is have a play with parameters see what suits you best but you would obviously need metallography equipment to find out porosity levels and the likes. Generally with wire flame you'll prob get around 10% porosity (approx)

I'll have a dig through my comp see what Ive got tomorrow (Australia time)

Any probs give me a yell

All the best

RE: 16 E flame spray
This are start parameters and if necesary you can change them, in order to achieve the resoult, that becouse gases stecchiometry can change a little.
Best regards
