interpass temperature

when coating with HVOF how do people measure their interpass temperature and what temperature do people run?
i.e metros cut off temp for 7102 is 150c but is that measured where the coating is bieng applied or say six inches either side,

we shut down and do a cooling cycle when the surface area of the coating going on reaches 150C but is this correct as the workpiece is only say 130c

We use infrared to check and keep around 90 to 120 C. For small and easy heating parts, we simultaneously use dry air for cooling.
