Thermal Spraying of PP and PE
Hi I have customer looking for a couple units of Thermal Flame spray for spraying PP and PE in powder form.

Equipment should be suitable for use with LPG (60 propane 40 butane), have a separate powder feeder, controller, and be suitable for light production work hand-held.

customer will need 3 units,

Update: November 2008

I have just visited the plant of IBIX or Tecnosupply in Italy, the Gladiator unit for spraying of plastics. It is very interesting technology, and I can recommend the process. They also produce a Cleaning system that works at very low Bar pressure, even can be used in Restoration of Ancient Stone, and Wood.

I plan to trial the equipment myself in our workshop, and will keep the group posted.

Hi,
However, your question on the use of LPG remains unanswered.
Has anyone used LPG for polymer powder spraying?

Most of the low thermal capacity torches, such as Xiom1000,use propane for spraying polymeric powder. In India imported propane is expensive (compared to LPG/LNG/acetylene) and poor availability.More powerful torches using acetylene, like Xiom 5000 costs more than three times and is not required for coating comparitively smaller area.
Has anyone tried LPG /LNG for polymer sparying? 'hope to get some positive answer.

This is not true. The Xiom gun both the 1000 & 5000 run on propane. They will also spray with LPG and Propylene.

I have checked with Xiom distributor, who in turn got the answer from Xiom ,NY, that for Xiom 1000 LPG/CNG not recommended.
If anyone who has used LPG/and/or CNG with Xiom 1000 for polymer powder spraying,I would appreciate his views on this subject.
