Is any body have technical bulletin of metcoloy 2. I want to know some propertis about this wire
-Bonding properties (selfbonding or need bond coat)
-thickness properties
-hardness
-application areas (we want to apply this wire on 5000-8000 rpm shaft on bearing surface, this shaft beared in babbit)* or suggest other wire
-I,V and air parameters
Thanks

RE: Technical Bulletin of Metcoloy 2 wire
You have not really given many details on the application, what is the machine, the component, what diameters, loading, volume of parts, etc.
However assuming its a normal shaft repair, in a bearing area, a bond coat of a NiAl material, followed by 420 should work.
Other factors could be more important than the coating wire, like parameters, surface prep, skilled operator, and critical in my opinion, is Belt Grinding or Stone grinding of the 420 SS to achieve the proper surface, and dimension.
