TAFA 45 CT arc spray coating
Hi All,

What would the effect on a TAFA 45 CT type 250 micron thick coating if cleaned using water jet blasting at 600 kg/cm2 pressure = 8400 psi pressure -in terms of coating bonding to the substrate assuming the coating is applied on a well blasted surface using TWIN ARC

RE: TAFA 45 CT arc spray coating
Hi Shantanu

First, my hands on experience with water jet cleaning/coating stripping is minimal, so please take what I say with a pinch of salt Rolleyes

Water jet coating stripping uses pressures around 30,000 - 60,000 psi. While your 8400 psi is well below this level it may still damage/erode the coating. I think you need to run some tests to satisfy yourself how your coating will stand up to this cleaning process and at what level of exposure.
