Stripping of Diffusion Al-Si Coating on Superalloy

i am new a member, i have a question about stripping of DIFFUSION Al-Si coating on superalloy, please help me how can i stripp and remove this coating?

Hi khajeh

to the Surface Engineering Forum.

I think your only option here would be to grind the diffusion effected zone away. You will reduce the original pre-treatment dimensions of the component though. Diffusion treatments involve changing chemically the surface of the substrate material - the substrate becomes the "coating" as a posed to a thermal spray or paint coating being purely additive coatings which can in most cases be removed without effecting the original substrate size or chemistry.
