Sand blasting parameters
Hello
Is there a standart for sand blasting before thermal spray?

Brown (or white)
F24
Al2O3
Acetone cleaning
Isopropyl alcohol rinsing
humid free air drying
75 mm standoff distance
45 degree shot range

These are standart right? If any of them different then yours please guide me.

Here my question starts;
For 8'' pressure type blasting nozzle, what is nominal pressure, movement speed, finish Ra, other critics?

Which type do you prefer, Suction or pressure ?

The most important thing about sandblasting is often forgotten by some sprayers: Sandblasting should not damage the component! If you coat an important, mechanically stressed piece of machinery, incorrect sandblasting can dramatically reduce its service life.

It is primarily about the hardened components that work under an alternating load. During sandblasting, notches are created in the steel surface, which become cracks due to a constant change of load. In such cases, the coated part fails after much less stress cycles than uncoated. Coating material has no influence on this, but graining of the blasting material has a very large impact. If you want to coat such a part, the coarse corundum types (from F20 to F60) are out of the question for sandblasting!

An example from my experience:

The same steel samples from 42CrMo4 (45 HRC each) were tested under alternating load (about 20% of max.). The uncoated samples reached a normal number of cycles of about 2,000,000 cycles until fracture. The coated samples that were blasted with F30 only reached about 500,000 cycles. Only after a blasting material change to finer corundum (F90) did the coated samples reach normal 2,000,000 cycles.
