I have Rokide 9800,melted ceramic powders do not stick to material.Very low percentage of melted ceramic powders stick. We applied sand blast just before the coating but again not stick sufficiently, coating thickness not reach to 50 micron. What must we do about this problem?

I am awaiting your answer.

Best Regards

RE: Rokide
Hi Zuhal,

Can you clarify a bit on the equipment. My experiences with Rokide is they are a Rod Spray gun. Maybe you are describing the powder after atomizing the rod? In any case the bonding of a ceramic coating to the surface of a part depends on many factors, including surface preparation, preheat, and bond coat (which you are not applying).

I think you could search this site and find many ideas on improving bond strength for any thermal spray coating, and that will be a good start.

Questions we will have:

1. What is the substrate material
2. size thickness of substrate
3. RPM rotated
4. Ra value after blasting
5. Preheat if any
6. Why are you coating the part
7. Do you have arc spray or hvof?
