Required Material for Spray

Dear Thermal spray enthusiast,  
I am currently working on to develop an app for calculating the Thermal spray material and cost.
I need all your input to made this success. I have used below formation / formulas, which may be correct. 
Please do  your own calculation and share your answer for testing purpose.

Sample: Cylindrical object : 300mm diameter 5000mm Length


1. Calculating the Surface Area = pi x d x h
2. Calculate Volume : Surface area x thickness ( assume 0.5 mm / 500 microns per side)
3. Calculate weight of the material deposited = Volume X density ( Assumed 90% of density for WC10Co4Cr (13.63g/cm3)
4.  Assumed Deposit efficiency 40%

Please do share your thoughts as well with your answers.

The way I always did it, I would perform the coating of some part of known dimensions and calculate the "density" with deposit efficiency included.
You would divide the volume of coating by used powder weight.
Also the gun used is taken into account this way and other variables of the process. 
I would then use this calculated "density" to calculate the weight of the powder I would use for the the parts of other dimensions.
It usually would be more or less accurate. You might calculate another "density" for the parts with diameters that are, for example, a lot smaller because the deposition efficiency would drop significantly in this case and your "density" would increase.
