Refuse Incineration (Waste to energy) Boiler Coatings
Just curious if anyone out there has had any experience on field applications in this area (Refuse Incineration Boilers). I haven't seen much in the way of formal papers published, and I'm wondering if anyone has the will/desire/interest to discuss here.

Outstanding summary of the corrosion modes encountered in the industry. The criticality of operating temperatures in these units is oft misunderstood and explained fairly well in not-too-technical terms.

Has anyone found a better mouse-trap for boilers operated at higher temps. The inconel 625 seems to work fairly well lower in the boiler, but in the superheats it just doesn't get it done. Has anyone tried something in the stellite family here? I'm wondering if a cobalt base material might mitigate the issues that the nickel base encounter at the higher temps.

I'm thinking that a field trial on a small area with an interested client might be a decent, economical way to look into it. Am I crazy and destined to fail the trial, or has someone gone there already and have feedback/advice to make it work?

Hi Michigan Man
There are a lot of different applications on refuse inceneritors, with HVOF, Arc Spray and special welding equipment, and every one has his own products, i did the HVOF and Arc spray application, and both worked quite fine, I've got a lot of documents about this applications.
