Qualifying T800 to F50TF45 Class A
I am having problems qualifying T800 to F50TF45 Class A. I have been spraying this coating for years, but always qualifying right at the max limit of every aspect of the spec. I'm using a 3MB spray gun. Does anyone out there have parameters for a 3MB plasma gun that would qualify this coating to meet MetCut's evaluation? As we all know...MetCut is very difficult to get passed, so i need to get the unmelts & porosity down to mid level in the spec without introducing oxides beyond spec limit.

Thanks,

Mike

If poeple are thinking that a 3M gun can't do the job, what would be a better spray gun? Possibly a 9M?

Hi Mike
I did many qualification parameter set up for T800 to F50TF45, and it was very hard to reach the values that matched with the specifications, and it took many weeks to obtain a set parameter, I try with both torch 9MB and F4, and it was easier with F4 gun
Best regards
Luigi

Thanks for the response. We've tried the F4 gun and it's just as difficult to sustain a consistent/repeatable process. One day the parameters are good and the next day they are not. I can't seem to stabilize the process to where I can be assured that we are capable of repeating it time and time again. It's a very difficult spec to meet and sustain and quite the headache. I'm starting to believe that this spec is just one of those specs that we'll never satisfy on a consistent bases. The class B version of the spec is so much easier.
