Needing Help Figuring Out How to Come about finding/creating a certain product

I am in talks with an organization that is interested in my product, but I have encountered a problem. My problem consist of not being able to find a mat that will consume oxygen. The ideal mat would be thin in nature, but when oxygen in introduced/applied, the mat expands allowing it act as an protective barrier.

Any ideas of what type of material i should be looking for.
