Need help to identify an unidentified coat
Hi forum.
Recently I have seen a wire drawing capstan which had been coated by an unidentified smooth black substance and use for drawing the steel wire. Usually these kinds of capstans are coated by tungsten carbide and I am sure this black coat is not tungsten carbide. So my question is what kind of coat could that be? In my net navigation i have found "black mangnes phosphate" as a probable candidate for this black coat. I impatiently wait for your responses.

Dear Behzad,
You can use coating for wire drawing capstans :
1- Wire drawing drumSadDiameter :650 mm) for high carbon steel,Tungsten-carbide by HVOF (WC-12Ni,WC-Co-Cr,WC-12Co+NiCrBSi or WC-Co/CrC-Ni)
For low carbon steel, Ceramic (Cr203) by Plasma Spray.
2- For wet drawing : First WC+NiCrBSi by flame spray or HVOF than fused.
