Dear members, I`m looking for technical bulletin for Metco sprabond wire .
What is the service temperature for this wire, oxidation resistance ,can it be used for fretting and particle erosion at high temperatures?

Hi Oeno

Molybdenum has poor oxidation resistance and is only fit for low temperature service in oxidising environments. Only in vacuum or non-oxidising environments you can take advantage of its high refactory properties.

Metco sprabond is the same material that the Molywire of PLANSEE, I did contact to Sulzer Metco, they told me that they only sell the wire of PLANSEE, all the time the wire has been the same.

If you want the technical information, give me your e-mail.

Just a side note, what are you going to use the Sprabond for? What application?

Are you using as a bond, or as traction coating?

To restore dimension on flange, but I need thicker ~1,5mm hard coating ,at elevated temperatures around 500 °C.
