Metco 9MB Gun
Hi all,
The Sulzer Metco 9MB gun has foront insulator for Ar gas.
It is designed two type, 2-hole and 6-hole.
My question as follow:
Why are there designed to 2 hole or 6 hole?
Are there have special features?
Thanks!Ashamed0002

RE: Metco 9MB Gun
There is a bit of a difference. I know some use the different ones for making a straighter plasma flame such as the 6 hole. The 6 hole restricts i find and it is hard to run at high primary. i would just only use the 2 hole for everything argon hydrogen helium

Quote:Note: It is suggested that the use of the six-hole argon insulator.9MB 60, with the 9MB plasma gun, will give improved nozzle life. This has not been verified. however.
This is from Metco technical bulletin "High Energy - High Quality Tungsten Carbide Coatings 5 Jan 84" involving power levels ranging from 60-80KW in combination with narrow bore high velocity nozzles.

I have used them. but don't recall if they made any real difference over the normal two hole insulator.
