RE: Member Survey - Introduce yourself here
Hi Gordan and everyone in this forum,

It's been sometime I did not log in due to switch of job function and have been real busy.
Graduated with B.S of Chemical Engineering and I have been working as a process & development engineer for Aviation industry for several years doing component repair. We are the engine OEM. Prior to that also a thermal spray engineer for a local MNC specializing in surface treatment for power turbine, electronic equipment for semicon industry. Recently I am the Lean Six sigma Black Belt specializing in process improvement in contractual management for engine overhaul shops.

Nice to be back after 8 months and glad to see more and more member joining and active discussion continues.
Great Job.

Alex

Hi everyone!

I'm François, I'm studying engineering in Belgium, it's my second year so I don't already have specific skills. I'd like to get a master's degree in aerodynamics or in materials science, actually both but I'll see when I'll be there Rolleyes

I like restoring old motorcycles and engine tuning as a hobby, I like to understand what I'm doing so I'm interested in many different fields of engineering.

I'm sorry for my mistakes in English, I'll try to improve it in the future!

Bye!

Hello,

My name is Jens Ekelund and i've been workin as a thermal spray operator for many years in is now working as production manager in my company here in Sweden. All the operators in my company is cetified (ETS) and we are really working on keeping up when it comes to new technology and spraying materials.

Ive got lots of experience when it comes to plasma spraying, arc spraying and flamespraying and have been using lots of different equipment from sulzer metco and castolin / tafa.

At the moment we have 2 Plasma spray equipments (I have ordered a third one just a few days ago), 4 different arc spray equipment and lots of flamespray guns (both wire and powder)

Best regards

Jens Ekelund

My name is Gary and I am the primary caregiver for 9 plasma operations (Metco), all 9MB guns with 2, 7MC controllers the rest are 9MC controllers and 1 HVOF praxair unit, I thought I would jump in and join the forum. I am currently rebuilding a 8ME heat exchanger by removing all 3 hear exchangers and replacing them all with one half the size if one of them and it is still supposed to be more efficient then all three were. They only problems I face are unmelts and Porosity in my coatings, I have been doing some reading and I am going to try somethings I have found here. I was an operator back when we sprayed wire with the 5K guns and was until we got into plasma and then went into repair. If a 9m series breaks I have seen it. and repaired it. It is always amazing how my company trains the people that don't have to deal with problems.
