Mechanical cladding

Hello all!

Could anybody possibly explain me the difference between the two types of Ni-Al coating materials? For example, 5 wt% Al can be clad onto a nickel core, or 80 wt% Ni can be clad onto an aluminum core. When is it better to use aluminum core and when the nickel one?
