Masking tape or compounds suggestion
Hi everyone,
is anyone have suggestion for masking compounds or some masking materials for small holes diameter 0.64-0.76mm. I need to applicate Metco 204B-NS coating on surface where are small holes and i need to save holes from powder becouse i do not have facility to drill holes again. Here is the pictures of example.

Best regards, Sasa Golubovic.

I've ever used a soft matireial like plasticine years ago which is from Sulzer in Switzerland. But I don't remember the name. It is pink and soft and it can resist the impact of plasma flame.
Maybe you can try to contact with them to see if they have any infomation.

Hi......
Use graphite sticks like for pencil, you can buy them at a stationery store, there are 0,5mm/0,75mm and 1mm or more., in some case i used copper wire, this because on copper the coating do not bond easily, take care apply without sand blasting the copper, plece the copper wire after sand blast operation.
Best regards
Luigi

This is what I used at Turbocare and Siemens.

https://www.dymax.com/adhesives/products/718

It works amazing for cooling holes of any size.

In the high Temperature Brazing Industry they use a slurry to fill the whole Cavity on Turbine parts with Cooling holes to prevent melting Brazing Filler Metal from entering the Holes during Brazing process.
I can supply a small sample for testing.
If interested I will explain Procedure in more detail.
