Improving grit blast operation

been ask to help to improvise on the grit blasting gun..u guys have any ideas that can be add on to it to further improvise it?

would be more of a help if you could provide what type of blast media ,suction or pressure blast, what size blast nozzle and what your trying to blast and so on

if i am not wrong its just a normal which just consist of a nozzle connecting to the main engine...because of the worker have to grist blast for 3-4 hours straight is there any way that it can decrease the workers fatigue? because they are using it manually which is too tiring..

well you could try making a rack system to hang the hoses from thus removing some wieght?

yeah..but the thing is the waste of the grit which consists of very fine sand might just choke up the rack...was thinkin of somthing to help the worker with the circular motion which they use during the blasting...but just cant find the perfect mechanism that won,t be affected by the grit dust

I wouldn't worry about fouling a quick rack set up it's just made out of what ever you have laying around for angle iron and most of the wieght will be carried by what ever means you use to hold the hoses up be it a bunji cord or some chain or a strap the only wieght the blaster will have is from the strap or chain forward to the nozzle this will help with the strain.dosen't seem like much but it works.

I would suggest that the staff you have might do well to toughen up a bit. 3-4 consecutive hours behind a nozzle isn't bad. I have personally worked behind a nozzle inside a confined space for much longer periods of time, and while it is certainly hard work it is not an excessive burden.

That said, if this is a continuous production issue or a long term project then you may want to look into wheelblast equipment and/or turntable(s) to make the operation more efficient. A simple turntable (rubber lined ideally) with nozzles suspended over it can be very effective if the part is very flat. If the geometry of the pieces is more complex, then setup takes considerably more effort.

Michiganman: Actually they have modify it to become from a 1 man to 1 gun situation to a 1 man 2 gun situation and now i need to try to further improvise it further for its mobility. As the handling of the new equipment is too rigid..

buy a automatic system with turntable stuff. I have it one
but to customize it, as well can be done.
1. Fix a gun, create a stand
2. create a turn table
3. creat a motor for turn table,

well, any brand or size to be specific?I know a guy who can do this kind of stuff
