Btw, he is using the 50 psi on the secondary in order to satisfy the secondary gas pressure switch. If he did not do this, the 9MC would fault out "Low Secondary PSI"

Toungue thanks!

yes, he has 50psi of secondary hydrogen gas...i didnt know what it was for actually till you mentioned that it was to prevent the trigger "low sec PSI" Ashamed0002

Also, he mentioned that his coating appeared grey/dark..is this normal? He said that he was expecting a white or silver coat.

Cheers!

Hmmm.....ask him if he means blue-ish. If that's the case, he is over heating the coating. I have not seen this coating turn grey although I could imagine in a small I.D. he could be experiencing quite an amount of dust. Make sure the air jets are being used on the gun at 40+ psi. Arrange the air jets so they run parallel to the rotating surface in order to blow off dust immediately before - and after coating. Also, adjust the air jets so the air streams cross at 5 inches. This is fundamental.

Sound advice I think Smile

Hi,

I'm a little late to help. but,
I spray compressor cases as you describe here.
We also had a max for bond strengh.
We run a very low parameter (about 25Kw) with no secondary flow,( with great results) for the last 15 yrs that I'm aware of. Wink

Anyway, my point is that, for this app., the coating is quite porous. It is also borderline greyish side.NOT the typical "shiny bright aluminum" color that you normally get from 52C. (sprayed with higher "reccomended" param.)

I just wanted to say that all seems normal Christine. Just dont let it get too dark. Wink

And the other fella was spot on as far as the console "needing to see pressure" to avoid a low secondary fault.
(That sounds like someone who has spent actual time in the booth.)
