Hi Intel55

If memory serves me right, typically around 300 HV (30 HRC equiv). So far not been able to find documented hardness tests on this coating so treat this as a guestimate Big Grin

Thanks!
Yeah, I have not been able to find anything. Tried Ametek and they do not know right now.

1. Hastelloy C-276 coating by HVAF is about 290 HV300.

2. Wrought polycrystalline C-22 alloy with HV250.

3. Hastelloy C by DJ2700: 506 (3.2 Table 3)

RE: Hastelloy C hardness?
Hi ycwbycwb

Thanks for the links, I particularly found the High Velocity Wire and Rod Combustion Spraying an interesting link (my link is to the English version rather than German Big Grin)

Hi Intel55

Thinking back I do seem to remember getting unexpected high hardness for Hastelloy C on a few HVOF sprayed samples (~500 HV). Though I think hardness evaluation at the time was purely curiosity and not a requirement for a anti-corrosion coating. So I think the hardness will be very dependent on the process and parameters. The coatings will probably be very much harder than the wrought or cast Hastelloy C anyway.
