HVOF/HVAF Thermal Spraying

Hi. I am currently trying to create a process model for the HVOF/HVAF thermal spray process for a university project. I am wondering if anybody could help me understand the steps followed in this process. IE pre-maching to finishing and everything in between. Also the variables that would have to be considered at each step.

If it helps it can be made it specific to the repair of a steel shaft to be operating in a corrosive environment. I have already conducted significant research into the most effective coating materials etc.
