Im sure you can copy and make a gun if you have all the cnc mills and other machines. might end up costing more to make a gun then to buy one unless you want to make 100's
You still need the machine to feed the gas and oxygen. Unless you have a team of engineers, it sounds dangerous lol

I'm an Production Eng., PhD student at the moment of Metallurgy science, i have fine background of CNC-CAD/CAM i deal with them, the big challenges in my research depends on HVOF coating, the funny thing : is whole country didn't have it at this time, i contact of some coating co. but the complete system cost about $ 22,000 its still expensive of simple parts. they wont sells, some parts such as the gun, powder feeder is simple to made, the difficult part is the gun parts and nozzle profile and the hole size.
I ask if some one knows a company sells HVOF gun Diamond type, or any sported info. of HVOF-DJ type block design , or sketches with dimensions that can less the manufacturing time.

I would recommend you not to try to start the system by you self, without an expert in this system, because could by dangerous for you and you can destroy the system, HVOF work with high gas pressure, I recommend you to ask for security and technical notices directly from the producer of the system, I'm an espertize in this kind of systems, and I had several problems with it.

IMO, I would NOT try and build your own HVOF torch. I can get an FST DJ Hybrid for under $9,000 or so compared to a SM $12,500 DJ. Even a JP5000 can be had for around $10,000.
