hi,

Is it possible to do frictionweld carbide with steel ?

Hi Guru

I think this is possible and certainly by third body friction welding (friction brazing). Friction welding and surfacing using Co-Cr-W-C alloy (stellite) types is certainly possible.

Hi Guru,
You can check for the answer in my book on "Advanced Thermally Assisted Surface Engineering Processes', Kluwer Academic Publishings, now Springer, NY, 2004. There is a chapter on friction welding including the theory and application.
