Has there been anything that has changed as regards to supplies to the system Air, Oxy, Fuel ?
Hi Kev, It's a new DJ gun, Old feeder, old console. The one thing I cannot eliminate is that the console my be the cause, as in it may not be calibrated correctly. I need to get this done to eliminate that possibility. We had a hybrid gun on the same setup and it worked fine, just ran into parts problems and are waiting for more. But I need this to work correctly so I have two setups.
No change on gases or air supply

Is your gun stand off distance correct? If ok, how about your spray/ gun traverse pattern with relative with part geometry? Is the gun distance is being maintained same all the time, is there any point in spray process where the gun comes too near to the part and the flame deflect toward gun? If this take place, there is possibility of nozzle burn as you are experiencing.

Guna, we maintain a 7 1/2" standoff distance and the traverse is completely automated. The only deflection that could be happening is on the shadow guard. I think they may be at 90degrees to the part and when the gun pauses in it cycle, maybe there is blowback from that. Come to think of it until we moved to the closer standoff as the parameters indicate, this wasn't happening. I will check tomorrow thanks! I would have never thought of this.......
Well so much for that theory.......I wasn't aware the gun lifts above the part/shadow guard in its pause during cycle. I guess we start over......
