Cold rolling

Hello to all,

I need an opinion about HVOF or HVAF used for replacing of the hardened chrome layer on a cylinder used for cold rolling. Cylinder size: 600mm diameter and 3300mm long, weight 5.5 tons.

I will be grateful if someone that has made this coating with HVOF or HVAF on that kind of cylinder will share the experience.
It is suitable the coating with HVOF or HVAF given the high mechanical pressure and effort involved in cold rolling process?

WC-12Co coatings applied by the M3 gun from UniqueCoat Technologies were tested in the development of the CVT used in the Nissan Rogue. They were found to be able to withstand contact pressure of 3.5 GPa, which is 75% more than what was previously measured with HVOF coatings. If you know the contact pressure in your cold rolling application, you can compare it 3.5 GPa and see if it is suitable.
