Coating for plunger
Hi,
I have plunger which surface it is necessary to be rebuild with fully corrosion resistant coating. Coating thickness should be from 0,5 up to 1,5mm (There is different wear depth). Hardness should be 30-40HRC. Working conditions - pressure about 70atm, water, it works in pair with bronze B10 hub. Dimensions of plunger - diameter about 500mm length 10000mm.
I think about electric arc wire spray process and material SS420 ... but influence of porosity.... and how it works with bronze I don't know. Does anyone have ideas, experience....?

All layers produced by arc spray are porous and non-waterproof. Therefore, this method can only be used when the layers are sealed with a plastic (resin) after coating.

Arturas,

HVAF, HVOF, Laser Cladding, Spray and Fuse - any of these will work here,
choose whatever is closer to you and more convenient
