Can CP 1 or 2 Grade Ti be carburised?
Does anyone know if Commercially pure grade 1 or 2 Titanium be hardened with carburising, this stuff is so soft it needs hardening! Sad

Hi Bry

Yes, I believe titanium can be carburised, but it certainly is not as straight forward as carburising steel. I think you will have a very hard time finding a commercial service for doing this treatment.

A quick google search reveals little info:

Hi,
Ti surface can be hardened plasma nitriding or by nitrogen ion implantation process.
