Usually the MCrAlY coating is sprayed no thicker than 200 microns (VPS). For safe operation as a bond coat, 100-150 micrometers is sufficient if the layer is of high quality (VPS + vacuum annealing). If the layer is sprayed using HVOF and not used as a bond coat but as an anti-oxidation layer, coating thicknesses over 200 micrometers make sense.

Coating thickness of Amdry 9951 could appropriate for the thermal spray process being used (usually this material is used as bond coating), I can suppose that you use an HVOF process, and if it’s an O2/kerosene system the maximum coating thickness could be about 0,4 mm, if you use a HVOF O2/gas, as this coating have too much stresses, the thickness could be lower, and as this material is not sensitive to variations in substrate temperature, more care should be taken to ensure substrate temperature remains constant during the coating process the substrate temperature should be appropriate to the thermal spray process being used
