Alternate material and spec question
We have a drawing that allows the use of Equivalents to Metco 450 ns. The metco 450ns uses the AMS 2437 spec for testing of the samples. We have opted to use Tafa 75B arc wire as the equivalent. My question is Do you still do the samples to AMS 2437 or some other AMS spec?

RE: Alternate material and spec question
AMS2437 cover only the application of coatings by Plasma spray Process (some times called Plasma arc spray), and the propierties of such coatings, I know for example for HVOF coatings you must use AMS2447-3 spec, I mean, that probably for Arc spray system there is a specific Spec.

RE: Alternate material and spec question
The Metco 450NS Powder has the same chemistry as the Tafa 75B or the Polymet 885, thus you should be able to use the same AMS 2437 Spec for your samples. You are just doing a different process to complete the application.

Yes you can.., but the AMS2437 is a spec only for APS coatins applications...
