Almen intensity on HVOF Diamalloy2004
Dear guys,

What would you interpret an almen intensity requirement such as 20N. Will it mean a 0.02 in deflection or 0.2mm deflection in almen N?

The reason I am asking is a requirement on a HVOF tungsten carbide coating, diamalloy2004 is asking for an intensity 0f 20N, with coating thickness of 0.23-0.30 mm.

I am having difficulty to achieve this requirement, as most of the intensity that I get is typically 0.25 range...Even AMS2448 seems to be within this range of intensity. Anyone can share if they can actually achieve 0.2in (0.508mm) instead?

Thanks

RE: Almen intensity on HVOF Diamalloy2004
Hi Lazha
Diamalloy 2004 sprayed with DJ has to much stresses, what parameters and system do you used, I used EGun HVOF from FST, with K-623.23 (-45+15) Wc12Co, becouse 2004 has to much fines (-45+5), and all Almen test result was within the specification requested by OEM,
Best regards
Luigi
