The coating will be done with APS (Metco 7M with F4 gun or 7MB gun)
Is there anybody who could help me with any kind of informations ?
Thanks,

RE: APS - Diamond film
Hi Ion
You will not be able to apply diamond like carbon films using conventional atmospheric plasma spray. I suppose that these guns could be used as part of a PACVD (plasma assisted chemical vapour deposition) process with some serious modification. See Exnnerspray link and I think you will get the idea.
I have plasma sprayed nickel/diamond coatings before, but I don't think this is what you are after.

Hello Mr. Gordon,
Thank you !
I know this process of diamant film deposition with a convential spraying equipment with vacuum plasma.
I read this article:
F. Deuerler, M. Pies, H. Van den Berg, R. Tabersky, V. Buck: Production, characterization, and wear behaviour of plasma jet CVD diamond films on hard metal cutting tools, phys. stat. sol. (a) 154 (1996) 403-422
And this:
C. A. Wolden, Z. Sitar, R. F. Davis: Combustion flame deposition of diamond, in: B. Dischler, C. Wild (eds.) Low-Pressure Synthetic Diamond, Springer Series in Materials Processing, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 1998, p.41-58
But I do not have a vacuum cabin for plasma spraying and that is why I will try to obtain the diamant film with an APS equipment.I was wondering if someone with more experience than me, can give me some suggestions.
Kind regards,
Ion

RE: APS - Diamond film
Hi Ion
I think APS just will not work, you will need spray inside a chamber controlled environment, otherwise you will just be adding to global warming with CO2 rather than producing DLC films.
