Higher velocity and lower temperature can lead to better coatings.
There is not enough information to comment on your particular
application though.
You need to take care with evaluation of coating quality using
porosity level alone, as the density (also hardness) of WC
based coatings can be improved using too much heat with the
consequence of losing WC phase and formation of less desirable
metastable and oxidised phases which will produce less wear
resistance and toughness.
