In the previous discussion, Gordon mentioned that instead of
tailoring the powders, simply adjusting the spray procedure will
stop or minimize the Zirconia crack. I am new to Zirconia spray.
Assume the gun is new and gun supplier recommeded spary parameters
are used. But coating still has cracks (not intrinsic
microcraks), I think what you need to do is:
1. Increase the pre-heat of the part (with the bond
coat)
2. Reduce the front cooling air jet flow/pressure on coating
3. Use/increase gun dwell time
Are these the right solutions ?
