Thank you for comments.
The effects of substrate and coating coefficient of thermal
expansion, temperature and heat flow etc. are important
considerations with regard to stress development. Preheating of the
substrate prior to spraying is generally advised: one to provide a
dry and more active surface for bonding and two to expand the
substrate to counteract slightly the tensile stresses developed in
many coatings.
